My Background

            I am a design specialist with a complete background in the construction industry.  This background includes hands on and equipment operation for grading and excavation, masonry work, rough and finished carpentry, flooring and wallboard installation and finishing, concrete and wood foundation applications, steel, post and beam, wood, concrete, and prefab structural applications, plumbing, HVAC, electrical wiring, surveying, landscaping, material estimating, water, wastewater and road construction, maintenance and repair, along with construction and property management. I am a problem solver and have an eye for noticing defects in design, and operating procedures.

 

For the last fourteen years I’ve been working as a design professional utilizing the current Autodesk products including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Architecture and MEP, Revit Architecture, Structure and MEP, and 3ds Max animation.  I have performed work for municipal, industrial, commercial and residential clients designing subdivision plats (conceptual through final), plans and profiles for water, wastewater, process waste and road and rail construction, 3D surface models for drainage, irrigation and erosion control.  New and remodeled, commercial and residential, architectural and structural plans, HVAC, plumbing and wiring schematics, and 3D modeling for digital walk-through and flyovers.

Michigan Employment Security Commission

Designed interior remodel of existing 4,056 square foot group B occupancy Type V-A building to accommodate employment agency and developed the 0.75 acre site for off street parking and drive curbing to comply with City of Grayling zoning requirements.

Lange Vending

Designed and managed the construction process of a 7,000 square foot M and S-1 mixed use occupancy Type I-B warehouse with 1,960 square foot of retail rental frontage, and offices. Designed a complete 0.90 acre topographical site plan with proper drainage off county right-of-way, with a truck dock.

Family Practice Clinic

Designed a 2,944 square foot B occupancy Type V-A addition to an existing clinic within the City of Grayling. The floor plan consisted of a procedure room, nurse's station, reception area, waiting room, 8 exam rooms, 4 private offices, 3 accessible restrooms, all joined by 60" corridors over a full basement. Redesigned original 1.7 acre site plan to accommodate new addition and additional parking requirements.

Designed 1,080 square foot R-3 occupancy Type V-A vacation home on a full walk out basement in the Wilderness Valley golf course development.  Complete topographical mapping of 2 combined lots totaling 1.82 acres with existing and finished grade, driveway, septic, 2 car garage, and steps with walkway to golf course.

Designed a 5,760 square foot M, S-1, & H-3 mixed occupancy Type V-A lumber sales store and show room and a 1.65 acre site plan.

Jon Reitmeyer - Points North Reality

Designed a 1.65 acre topographical site plan to accommodate a 6,000 square foot restaurant and a 4,200 square foot 2 story office building, required parking, drainage to accommodate Michigan Department of Transportation standards, and redesigned existing county culvert system to assure proper drainage.

Dean and Aubry Optometry

Designed a 1,874 square foot addition to an existing 1,910.5 square foot B occupancy Type V-A optometry office within the City of Grayling. Added five exam rooms, one additional office, complete break room with kitchen, full bath with shower, and additional laboratory work area all on an existing 0.41 acre site.

Remodeled existing 3,310 square foot B occupancy Type IV wood framed structure to accommodate Orthodontic practice. Project included heating and cooling, plumbing, electrical schematics and parking layout. Existing structure sets on a 1.61 acre site.

Detailed remodel of a 4,856 square foot F-2 occupancy Type III-A water bottling plant and a 199 acre site plan depicting spring to plant distance and water drawing, bottling and packaging processes to comply with permit requirements for national distribution.

Designed a complete B occupancy V-A chiropractic office with x-ray and adjustment rooms with a 0.67 acre topographical site plan depicting proper drainage to accommodate Michigan Department of Transportation standards.

Designed a 640 square foot B occupancy Type V-B camp store and a combined 1,440 square foot pavilion over the complete project complying with Division of Child Welfare Licensing Children's and Adult Foster Care Camps.

Redesigned transfer station building foundation with a 3D drainage and grading design.  Reviewed and approved /disapproved contractor submittals for complete project while in progress

Worked with architectural conceptual design for a 13 acre commercial / residential combination preliminary and final plat site plan that included 18 above grade buildings and an underground parking structure.  Drafted plans with profiles for construction of roads, parking, water, waste water, storm water, and irrigation control and designed a complete 3D surface model for final grading and drainage purposes to accommodate the Idaho Transportation Department and city standards.
